Short–term changes on bus route No. 24 are expected

„Rīgas satiksme” informs that there will be changes on bus route No. 24 on December 16-18 due to repair works at the railway level crossing in Atlantijas Street. The changes will be made to ensure passenger transportation to/from Mangaļsala.

Bus No. 24 will go from terminal „Abrenes Street” by the route to c/c  Vecmīlgrāvis, where it will turn about and return to the city centre. To continue their trip to Mangaļsala, passengers will have to pass the level crossing. On the other side of the railway, transfer to the second section of bus route No. 24 will be ensured.

From the „Mangaļsala” terminal, bus No. 24 will run by the route to the temporary stop located near   Laivinieku Street, where passengers will get off. To continue their trip to the city centre, passengers will have to cross the railway and go to stop „c/c "Vecmīlgrāvis"”, where transfer to section 1 of bus route No. 24 will be ensured.

The scheduled time for transfers between two sections of bus route No. 24 is about 5 minutes.

Please see the changes here.

The schedule of bus route No. 24 will be changed during the repair works as follows:

  • there will be no changes in departure times in the part of the route between terminal „Abrenes Street” and bus stop „c/c "Vecmīlgrāvis"”;
  • buses will depart from terminal „Mangaļsala” 7 minutes earlier than provided for by the schedule;
  • buses will depart from the temporary stop near Laivinieku Street in the direction of terminal „Mangaļsala” 7 minutes later than provided for by the schedule.

Passengers who use e-tickets for a certain number of trips or buy tickets from the driver (including dog’s tickets) shall not register their e-tickets once again or buy another ticket from the driver when making a transfer from section 1 to section 2 of bus route No. 24 (or vice versa). A registered ticket/ticket bought from the driver will be valid for 1.5 in one direction.

Passengers who use monthly tickets or tickets for a certain period of time (e.g., 24-hour, 3-day, 5-day tickets) shall register their e-ticket once again  when making a transfer from section 1 to section 2 of bus route No. 24 (or vice versa).

Passengers who enjoy discounts granted by Riga City Council shall register the trip after each transfer.

Passengers who do not use e-tickets and are entitled to receive so-called zero tickets from the driver (disabled persons of groups 1 and 2, disabled persons under the age of 18 and a person accompanying a disabled person of group 1 or a disabled person under the age of 18) shall not receive another zero ticket from the driver when making a transfer from section 1 to section 2 of bus route No. 24 (or vice versa).

We also inform that the above repair works will influence minibus routes No. 200 and 224. Information about these changes will be published shortly.
